Tailgating at ESPN College Game Day!

Wow!  What an experience!  This great team representing White Hills Farm cooked for ESPN’s College Gameday VIPs and The Home Depot VIPs, Saturday September 2,, 2017 for the College Football Kickoff Classic at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

After all the prep work the experience began Friday September 1st with Ryan and Patrick driving to the Gameday set to get everything coordinated for Saturday’s event.  While there they got a great photo with Tommy “The Man who made it Happen”!  Thanks Tommy!.  Once all the logistics were set it was off to meet our team and finalize the plans for Saturday.

Saturday was an early wake up, and we drove to the set to get ready to serve some of our delicious food.  We set up our REC TEC smokers, graciously provided by Jody at REC TEC.  Thank you Jody!  It was a day of cooking food, talking with ESPN analyst and staff, and a great crowd of people enjoying the Start of another College Football Season.

We were joined by a great Chef, Kevin Sharkey from 1608 Crafthouse in Virginia Beach.  We cannot wait to go visit him and eat at his restaurant.

Annemarie sent a message to her grandma!

Roll Tide!

The food we prepared consisted of Pastrami, Boston Butt, Bacon Explosion, Smoked candied pecans, Pimento cheese, Jamaican Jerk boneless skinless chicken thighs, Rosemary Pork Tenderloin, sweet and spicy pickles.  With lots of great sides.

We finished it all off with Ryan’s Grilled Peach Cobbler.  Wow, was it good and went fast!

Thank you again to all the people at ESPN and Tommy for including us in the Tailgate!

Heavenly!

Sitting on the porch that is the definition of home-grown comfort, Amy brought out a dish of pecans to snack on with our lavender iced tea. The pecans were sweet with a hint of salt and ... smoked! (Patrick throws a lot of stuff on the grill and in the smoker and the results are always spectacular.) The pecans were like heaven.

Between the lavender everywhere, the porch, the view, the company, and the pecans, we might just as well have been in heaven.

You'll want to go back again and again!

Among the gardens and 100-year-old farm house is a picturesque red barn where Amy and Patrick not only sell their merchandise but also entertain and/or put on workshops. I have had the pleasure of attending several of these events ranging from cookie making, to lavender harvesting and arranging, to yoga classes.

I am always looking for what they have available because once you experience the sheer beauty and peaceful feel of White Hills Farm you too will want to go back again and again.

For me, it's a place tied to fond memories

White Hills Farm is the perfect backdrop for any occasion -- it has this way of enveloping and elevating meaningful celebrations. For me, it's a place tied to fond memories and an eagerness to return. Year round, its something to behold, a slice of heaven run by the best of people.
